Fit Finlay Reacts To David Finlay Comments On Signing With AEW Over WWE WWE/AEW

Fit Finlay has reacted to comments from his son David Finlay on why he signed with AEW over WWE following his NJPW departure.

David Finlay’s contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling expired in February, with speculation about where he may land following his departure, with reported interest from both WWE and AEW.

Finlay would end up signing with AEW, making his official debut on last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, helping Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors fight off Orange Cassidy and Darby Allin.

It was reported following his AEW signing that WWE had pitched for Finlay to join the NXT brand and lead the Birthright faction if he signed with the company, the group which includes his brother Uriah Connors.

Speaking on why he chose to sign with AEW over WWE, Finlay noted that he had never drawn any money with his brother of father, but had drawn money with Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors.

He said:

“Obviously I’ve got family ties in another company, and I sat and thought about it and was like ‘I’ve never made a dime with my brother, never made a dime with my father, I’ve made fat stacks of cash with [Gabe Kidd & Clark Connors]’. So the choice was easy.”

“My dad’s greatest accomplishment is that I came out of his nut sack. That’s the greatest thing he ever accomplished.”

This prompted a response from Fit Finlay, who would instead brand Uriah Connors as his ‘greatest accomplishment’, asking David to change his name.

He said:

Maybe @THEdavidfinlay your Brother, Brogan FINLAY @WWE_URIAH is my greatest accomplishment, he had to change his name, I suggest you go ahead and change yours! And those runts you hang out with… put the down!

Finlay and William Regal both made their returns to NXT television on this week’s show, which saw Charlie Dempsey betray Tavion Heights to join the Birthright.
