Five ‘Hidden’ Design Details In New World Heavyweight Championship WWE

The first new World Heavyweight Champion is set to be crowned at WWE Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia this Saturday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The title was presented by Triple H on Raw last month, with the design being an obvious homage to the ‘big gold’ World Heavyweight Championship.

However, there are more hidden design details in the title, as showcased in a new video posted by WWE.

The first is the placement of an eagle above the logo, which is a call-back to the ever-popular ‘Winged Eagle’ WWE Championship design used in the early-mid 90s.

Also featured on the title are three lions, which is not a reference to Gareth Southgate’s boys, but rather the McMahon Family crest, which features three lions.

Another call-back to an old design comes with a crown also featured above the logo, which is a call-back to the title held by Bruno Sammartino back during his legendary title run in 1963.

Another call-back to the company’s history comes in the form of the Diamonds, namely 60 diamonds on the title, to commemorate 60 years of WWE.

Finally, the title is trimmed with the design of ring ropes, just like the ring in which it will be defended.

The first champion will be crowned at WWE Night of Champions this Saturday, when Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins and AJ Styles face off for the title.

The card for WWE Night of Champions 2023 on Saturday, May 27 is as follows:

World Heavyweight Championship – Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins vs. AJ Styles

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship – Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn (c) vs. Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa

Raw Women’s Championship – Bianca Belair (c) vs. Asuka

SmackDown Women’s Championship – Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Natalya

Intercontinental Championship – Gunther (c) vs. Mustafa Ali
