You have to feel bad for Ridge Holland. By all accounts, it appeared he was in line for the biggest push of his career, possibly complete with an NXT Championship match. Odds are that won’t be happening for a while.
On last night’s episode of NXT, Holland took on Oney Lorcan. Unfortunately, Holland appears to badly injure his leg while catching Lorcan on a dive. Wrestling is a dangerous profession but sometimes its fairly simple things like this that do the most damage. Holland then had to be carted off on a stretcher. Here is the footage of the injury, best to look away if you are squeamish.
Have to feel for Ridge Holland here, this looks so nasty.
His leg folds underneath him as he attempts to base for Oney Lorcan. He's set for a long spell out injured just as he was primed for a big angle.
Best wishes to him on the recovery! pic.twitter.com/6GsqhJQ8yL

Holland had been the focal point of the closing moments of NXT Takeover 31. After Finn Balor had defended the NXT Championship against Kyle O’Reilly, Holland appeared at ringside with the lifeless body of Adam Cole. He deposited the body and walked off, clearly making an impact on the main event scene.
Finn Balor also suffered a major injury recently. At NXT Takeover 31 Balor was injured, resulting in his match ending abruptly. It was later revealed that he had broken his jaw in two places.
