Former AEW Champion Departure Confirmed

Former AEW Champion Departure Confirmed AEW

The departure of a former AEW champion has officially been confirmed via his removal from the company’s website roster page.

After a few months of speculation, Penta El Zero Miedo is now gone from AEW.

Penta has been removed from the AEW roster page, while his brother Rey Fenix remains.

Fightful had reported that Penta’s contract expired at the start of this month and he became a free agent.

As also noted by Fightful and previous reports over the past couple of months, Fenix would not be departing AEW with Penta due to the length of injury time added onto Fenix’s contract.

That time will see him remain with the company well into 2025, even though there are no plans to use him.

There was talk of the duo joining WWE, but there have been no new updates on that since Penta’s departure.

Penta and Fenix are former AEW World Tag Team Champions together, as well as World Trios Champions with Pac.

Fenix’s comments surrounding the situation can be found at this link.

We’ll keep you posted with any further updates on the status of the Lucha Brothers as they emerge.
