Former AEW Champion Files Trademark On New Name AEW

Former TNT champion Luchasaurus, now known as Killswitch, has filed a trademark on a new name following last week’s AEW Dynamite.

On the November 22 edition of AEW Dynamite, Christian Cage “re-christened” The Patriarchy in an in-ring promo segment where he renamed Luchasaurus to Killswitch.

This marked a huge major change for the former AEW World Tag Team Champion who has been with the company since signing in 2019.

On November 25, the former Luchasaurus, real name Austin Matelson, filed a trademark on his new name of “Killswitch.”

Cage stated when re-christening him that the name is for his finisher and means “strength.”

This segment ended with Adam Copeland making the save for Shayna Wayne who was about to be conchairto-ed by Killswitch. He went on to deliver the conchairto to Nick Wayne instead.

On the November 25 episode of AEW Collision, Killswitch defeated The Tate Twins in a handicap match. However, Adam Copeland came out post match to conchairto the former TNT Champion.

Copeland went on to challenge Christian Cage for the TNT Championship on the December 6 episode of AEW Dynamite from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
