Former AEW Star Fires Back At Rumours Surrounding His Departure

Former NXT star Roderick Strong made his shocking debut in AEW last month, coming to the aid of former Undisputed Era partner Adam Cole.

Strong’s arrival has led to fan’s hoping for the entire Undisputed Era reuniting in AEW, which can’t happen due to Bobby Fish departing the company last year.

Following Fish’s departure, reports emerged about him reaching out to Triple H and WWE for a potential return, also claiming that he asked Cole and Kyle O’Reilly to come with him, which they refused.

In an interview with Nick Hausman of Inside The Ropes, Fish addressed his AEW departure, firing back at the reports that he tried to get Cole and O’Reilly to leave with him.

He said:

“[Dave] Meltzer’s people at one point released some leak about me when I left AEW trying to get Kyle [O’Reilly] and Adam [Cole] to come to WWE, and that is accepted at this point as like gospel, and there’s no truth to it whatsoever.

“But when somebody has, you know, low moral value reporting wise, and then it gets into that news feed. Like I said, the desire to know, the perceived dirt is such that fiction becomes fact. I’ve been victim of that more than once.”

Cole is currently locked into a feud with Chris Jericho, seemingly set for a match at Double or Nothing later this month.
