Former AEW Star Reacts To Signing WWE ID Deal

Former AEW Star Reacts To Signing WWE ID Deal WWE, AEW

A former AEW star has reacted to becoming the latest WWE ID (Independent Development) signing.

At last night’s November 21 Freelance Wrestling event, Kylie Rae was officially handed a WWE ID contract, becoming the latest in a constant stream of new additions to the program since its launch less than a month ago.

After officially being picked out for the WWE ID program, Rae took to Twitter to send a heartfelt message of thanks, writing:

I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life.

But sometimes life gives us another chance.

Thank you @WWEID, feeling blessed

Rae is easily the most high profile name to join the WWE ID program thus far, being familiar to many fans not only due to her eight-year indie career, but also due to her brief time in AEW.

Rae was among the first names to join the AEW women’s roster in 2019, working the company’s first ever show, Double Or Nothing, in a four-way match with Awesome Kong, Nyla Rose and Britt Baker.

However, that was Rae’s only AEW match as she was released at her request not long after.

After her AEW exit, she worked for Impact/TNA before announcing her retirement from wrestling, although she returned to the industry a few months later with the NWA.

Interestingly Rae has already made her WWE in-ring debut, competing in a match on WWE Main Event against Dana Brooke in December 2022 under the name Briana Ray, but she wasn’t signed by the company at that time.

We will provide further updates on any future WWE ID recruits as/when they get announced.
