Former AEW Star TNA Wrestling Departure Confirmed

With his last appearance on TNA Wrestling programming coming almost six months ago, the status of former AEW star Alan Angels has been the subject of speculation lately.

Despite not wrestling for the company since November, Angels’ profile has remained on the TNA online roster page, leading to a Fightful Select reader enquiring regarding his contractual status.

In response Fightful Select have now confirmed that Angels is no longer part of TNA and actually departed the company back in December at the end of his contract.

Angels has since been a free agent and has been competing on the independent scene throughout 2025 thus far for promotions such as The Wrestling REVOLVER and Prestige Wrestling.

Taking to Twitter in response to Fightful Select’s report, Angels confirmed his TNA departure, thanking the promotion along with the following written statement:

The thing about wrestling is, no matter how much you love it, it doesn’t have to love you back. Wrestling doesn’t owe anyone anything.

Not going to lie, this is a big hit to me. I love TNA. It was an absolute dream to wrestle there under a brand that I have watched since I was little. I love the locker room even more, and I’m leaving with nothing but good memories of the friends that I have made there.

I am once again starting over and truthfully I have no idea what’s next, but I will never give up. Wrestling is my passion and has been since the day I started watching as a 7-year-old boy.

It’s all I think about every second of every day and I can’t imagine ever not doing it. Thank you to anyone that ever even watched me on a TNA program, and just know this isn’t the end for me.

Angels officially signed with TNA in November 2022, months following his AEW departure earlier that same year.

Upon debuting in TNA he joined the Violent by Design faction and would later compete as a singles star in the company’s X-Division.

Angels is perhaps most well known to many fans for his time in AEW as a member of The Dark Order faction, where he performed under a mask as Dark Order member number 5 (or V).
