Former AEW Star Makes WWE Debut

Former AEW Star Makes WWE Debut WWE/AEW

Former AEW star Ricky Starks, now known as Ricky Saints, made his official WWE in-ring debut on tonight’s NXT.

After his first appearance two weeks ago on February 11, last week saw Saints’ new name revealed and the announcement of his first match as a WWE star.

That match took place tonight, as Saints teamed with Je’Von Evans in the main event against the team of Wes Lee and Ethan Page.

After Evans and Page fought off, it essentially came down to a singles match between Saints and Lee, although Lee had Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe on the outside as backup.

Dupont and Igwe did try to get involved, but Saints thwarted their attempts and landed his Rochambeau finisher on Wes Lee for the win.

Although it was his first official match under WWE contract, it technically wasn’t the very first time Saints has had a match in a WWE ring.

Dating all the way back to 2012, Saints had four WWE matches prior to tonight, with the most recent of those coming on Raw in 2018 when he teamed with now AEW star Aaron Solo against FTR, who were then known as The Revival.

The show went off the air tonight with Saints celebrating his victory in the ring.

Tonight’s show also featured the Hardy Boyz in their first WWE match as a team since 2019 as they defeated Myles Borne and Tavion Heights, before setting up a match for the Hardys’ TNA World Tag Team Championship against NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom for Roadblock in two weeks.

Also set for Roadblock, NXT Champion Oba Femi defends his title against TNA X-Division Champion Moose.

Confirmed for Roadblock tonight as well, NXT Women’s Champion Giulia vs Women’s North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer with both titles on the line, meaning the winner will walk out as double champion.
