An update on a former AEW star changing their name after arriving in WWE after their return on tonight’s WWE Raw.
Making his in-ring singles return on tonight’s Raw, Andrade took on Apollo Crews in a match and ended up confirming his WWE ring name.
Returning to Raw, he was announced as simply ‘Andrade’ in lieu of a previous vignette that featured an on-screen name graphic that read ‘Andrade el Idolo’.
Andrade is returning to WWE after having spent the last several years competing in AEW under the name Andrade el Idolo.
Andrade won his first effort back on WWE Raw, besting Apollo Crews much to the delight of the Texas crowd.
Before the match in a backstage segment, Andrade had another face-to-face with Dominik Mysterio who seemed to believe that Andrade would be able to be recruited to help Judgment Day.
Elsewhere on tonight’s WWE Raw, Raw GM Adam Pearce announced that there would be a gauntlet match to determine who would face off against GUNTHER at WrestleMania 40.
The competitors were confirmed to be Sami Zayn, Ricochet, Shinsuke Nakamura, Chad Gable, Big Bronson Reed and JD McDonagh.
