Former AEW star Ethan Page has seen a huge uptick in success since joining WWE, and recently shared his thoughts about having made the switch to NXT.
Joining WWE NXT in May 2024, Page made an immediate impact in his new home, becoming NXT World Champion within his first two months on the roster.
However, Page had been previously featured in AEW albeit, at times sporadically in lieu of being utilized in top stories.
In a new conversation with Bully Ray on Busted Open After Dark, Page shared his thoughts on why WWE has pushed him whereas AEW did not.
Page said:
“This company is run by wrestlers.
“[AEW] didn’t know what they had, and now they do. I’m gone. These guys have me.
“They have the ability to do whatever it is that they want, and they have chosen to open a door for Ethan Page to absolutely kick wide open.”
Despite losing the WWE NXT Championship to Trick Williams after holding the title for 86 days, Page managed to successfully defend the title three times in the interim, capturing wins over Dante Chen, Ora Mensah and TNA Wrestling’s Joe Hendry.
On this past week’s episode of WWE NXT, Page beat Dante Chen in under one minute.
