Scorpio Sky’s AEW contract expiring: Will the former TNT Champion remain with the company?

AEW

Former AEW World Tag Team and TNT Champion Scorpio Sky’s contract with the company is set to expire this month.

When AEW formed back in 2019, the company announced many staples of the independent scene among it’s inaugural roster.

Among those names were SCU, the trio of Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky, with Kazarian and Sky being the first-ever AEW World Tag Team Champions.

After SCU broke up, Sky would go on to become a multi-time TNT Champion, as well as joining forces with Ethan Page as the Men of the Year.

Scorpio Sky’s AEW contract expiring this month

In recent years, Scorpio Sky has not been a regular staple of AEW television, and it seems as though his time with the company may soon be coming to an end.

Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Sky’s AEW contract is set to expire in October, with them noting that he had not signed a new contract as of last Saturday’s All Out event.

There was not a date given for the expiration of Sky’s contract, but we will provide any updates when they become available.

Scorpio Sky isn’t the only former AEW World Tag Team Champion whose contract expires this month, with Anthony Bowens and Max Caster already reportedly free agents after their contracts expired on October 1.

Options for Scorpio Sky outside of AEW

With Sky potentially set to leave AEW, there are a number of obvious options for him outside the company.

It was reported today that TNA is expecting a former Tag Team Champion to debut at Bound For Glory this weekend, which could end up being Sky if his contract expires in time.

In TNA, Sky could reunite with Frankie Kazarian to reform their version of SCU, joining the Hardys, syX, the Nemeths and more in TNA’s tag team division.

Another former tag team partner of Scorpio Sky, Ethan Page, is currently on Monday Night Raw, and with Raw’s tag team division currently very baron, bringing Sky to the WWE main roster to reunite the Men of the Year would give Page something else to do, as well as provide an actual team for the Raw roster.

Alternatively, Scorpio Sky could go on an independent run, competing in various promotions across the country.
