During tonight’s episode of NXT UK on the WWE Network, a former champion made his return to the show after being off TV for several months.
The first ever NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate returned tonight having not had a match since March 7.
He came back for an episode of Supernova Sessions – which is Noam Dar’s talk show – to congratulate A-Kid on winning the Heritage Cup Tournament.
This set up a match between A-Kid and Bate for later in the show for the Heritage Cup. A-Kid picked up the win in the sixth round to retain.
Bate’s tag team partner Trent Seven had said in recent weeks that Bate had taken the time throughout the pandemic to do some “soul searching”.
