It has emerged that a former champion recently re-signed with WWE and is under a new multiple-year deal with the company.
A couple of weeks ago on SmackDown, a title change saw Zelina Vega win the Women’s United States Championship from Chelsea Green.
After the loss, Green posted a somewhat cryptic tweet, writing:
Goodbye for now @WWE – This is my farewell address (USA flag) 🫡
However, she was back on TV the following week, accompanying Secret Hervice member Piper Niven for her match against Vega.
It has now emerged via Fightful Select that Green recently put pen to paper on a new deal with WWE.
She signed her previous deal in late 2022, and it was due to expire later in 2025.
However, before the expiration actually came up, she signed a new multi-year deal.
The exact length is unknown beyond it being multi-year.
Green initially signed with WWE in 2018 and was then released in 2021 shortly after being called up from NXT to the main roster.
She then returned in the 2023 Royal Rumble and has since held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship and the Women’s United States Championship.
