A former champion returned to NXT at Halloween Havoc tonight, turned heel, and is now a member of Pat McAfee’s new group.
Despite being at recent NXT UK tapings, Pete Dunne has made his way over to the US with a bang and a half.
McAfee was in the ring with new NXT Tag Team Champions Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan, who he’d taken out the Undisputed ERA with last week.
One man was still standing though, and that was Kyle O’Reilly. O’Reilly confronted the three men with backup in the form of a former UK and Tag Team Champion from Birmingham named Pete. Or at least that’s what he thought.
Dunne struck O’Reilly with a chair and a four-on-one beatdown ensued with McAfee cocky throughout. The group was originally going to include Ridge Holland – who McAfee admitted he had paid to take out Adam Cole – until he got injured.
