Upon his rather surprising call-up to the main roster earlier this year, former NXT star Riddick Moss seemed to be getting somewhat of a push of Monday Night Raw under Paul Heyman.
Just a few weeks after debuting alongside Mojo Rawley, Moss turned on Mojo, won the 24/7 Championship and scored a clean pinfall victory over former North American Champion, Ricochet.
Riddick Moss returned to TV a few weeks ago, with a win on Main Event against Humberto Carrillo. This was the former 24/7 Champion’s first appearance on WWE TV in a number of months.
Along with Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns, it was reported that Riddick Moss requested some time away from the ring at the beginning of the Coronavirus. However, he clearly feels safe enough now to return to work.
While speaking on the Spark in the Dark podcast, Moss revealed the exact reason why he asked to be taken off of TV during the pandemic, and it certainly makes sense:
“I was having a blast. Then COVID came and everything shut down, especially for me with my personal situation with my brother having cystic fibrosis and living with him.”
For those that don’t know, cystic fibrosis is a disease that impacts the lungs and causes the person with the disease to often struggle to breathe over time. Given the symptoms of COVID-19, it makes sense that Moss wouldn’t want to risk getting his brother sick.
