A former multi-time WWE Women’s Champion has teased a potential in-ring return amid a key role in a new WWE television program.
A&E’s new competition based reality show WWE LFG: Legends & Future Greats, which sees WWE hopefuls begin their journey in the industry while under the tutelage of greats from years gone by.
Mickie James stands alongside Bubba Ray Dudley, Booker T and The Undertaker as coaches on the show, her first role on WWE programming since her release from the company in 2021.
James’ role on WWE LFG, as well as appearances in the crowd at Bad Blood and the 2025 Royal Rumble has renewed fans’ hopes of seeing her return to a ring soon, having only competed sporadically on the independent scene in 2024.
Speaking to Gabby LaSpisa on Gabby AF, James discussed an in-ring return, noting that it is a “right place, right time” situation:
“Absolutely. I think right place, right time, right moment. The season’s coming up, so I’m like, oh, maybe some free time on the horizon.”
James’ last match on WWE television came at the 2022 Royal Rumble, where she made a cameo appearance during her reign as TNA Knockout’s Champion.
