A former champion has admitted that they’re “tired of asking” for the return of their popular entrance theme.
When Sheamus made his return to WWE TV back in April 2024, he also returned with his original WWE theme ‘Written in my Face’, much to the delight of fans.
One of the attributing factors to the song’s popularity was also through through fans’ interpretation of the lyrics to the song, with “too many limes” becoming a meme online.
Unfortunately however, the theme’s return was short-lived, as The Celtic Warrior received a brand new entrance song just three months later in July.
During an appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Sheamus was asked about when he first noticed the memes based on the song, Sheamus said:
“Maybe 2010. People are very creative on the internet, very creative. I do miss that song, though. A lot of people were upset. I brought it back, but I wasn’t allowed to keep it.”
When asked if the theme could potentially make another return, Sheamus said:
“I don’t know. Do you want to ask? You go ask. I’m tired of asking. I’m all out of asking.”
Sheamus recently made his return to TV after almost a month out of action, attacking Ludwig Kaiser on the December 30 episode of Raw.
Sheamus and Kaiser will face one-on-one on this Monday’s WWE Raw, which will be the second episode of the Netflix era.
