AEW
A former champion has announced that they’re set to undergo surgery, just days after making their AEW in-ring debut.
One of the surprise entrants in AEW’s Women’s Casino Gauntlet Match at All In Texas was former IWGP Women’s Champion Syuri.
After a vignette for her arrival aired during ROH Supercard of Honor on May 11, Syuri showed up during the match and gave fans a glimpse of her talents that she has showcased in Japan throughout the last 17 years.
While fans would have been excited to see more of Syuri in AEW after her All In Texas debut, the STARDOM-signed talent took to her Instagram Stories to announce that she’s heading back to Japan to undergo elbow surgery at some point this month.
As translated by Mera Wrestling, Syuri wrote:
“I’m having surgery this month on my elbow, which has been hurting for a while!!”
It’s currently unclear when Syuri will be fit and able to return to action, but we will provide updates on her surgery and condition as/when they become available.
We at WrestleTalk wish Syuri all the best in her recovery.
After making her AEW debut at All In Texas, Syuri yesterday announced that she'll undergoing elbow surgery this month.
