A former MLW World Heavyweight Champion has shared a WWE tease amid their ongoing period of free agency.
With his TNA Wrestling contract expiring in early March, the future of Alex Hammerstone has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks.
While some fans believed a line from MJF’s promo on last week’s AEW Dynamite (March 19) to be a clue that Hammerstone could be AEW bound, it has since been reported that WWE have interest in the heavyweight star along with fellow free agent Kevin Knight.
Amid the reports linking Hammerstone with WWE, the former TNA star has taken to Twitter to share a curious image that will only fuel the rumors linking him with signing to the company.
As can be seen below, Hammerstone shared an image of himself during what appears to be a WWE tryout at the Performance Center in Orlando, FL.
There was no caption accompanying the image revealing when it was from, with the 34-year-old previously undergoing several tryouts with WWE, which he has spoken about publicly in the past.
You can view Hammerstone’s tweet for yourself down below.
Whilst a part of TNA, Hammerstone competed in a pair of matches on WWE NXT last September – losing to Oba Femi and picking up a count out win over Tony D’Angelo.
It’s not yet known whether WWE have approached Hammerstone or whether he is expected to sign with the company, however, we will provide updates on his future when they become available.
