Former Champions React To Their AEW Tag Team Split AEW

Former AEW World Tag Team Champions Max Caster and Anthony Bowens have reacted to The Acclaimed’s split.

For the past few weeks, fans have watched Max Caster and Anthony Bowens of The Acclaimed teasing a possible breakup of their team.

On the January 18 Maximum Carnage edition of AEW Collision, The Acclaimed officially split as Bowens choosing “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn over Caster.

In a digital exclusive, Max Caster further reacted to the split in a promo. He said:

“Yeah The Acclaimed is done. I’m just trying to grow as a person and Anthony Bowens, Billy Gunn, they’re not ready to grow, but everyone’s at different stages of their lives and you gotta understand.”

“But I knew that going into this speech today, Anthony Bowens is my best friend for life and I know he’s hard headed and ever since he’s started listening to Billy Gunn, he’s been a real stubborn guy. And I have been too.”

“Billy is a bad influence and has been since the 90s. But you know I just told it like it was and as the captain and the leader of The Acclaimed, and sometimes the captain has to go down with the ship.”

Meanwhile, Bowens posted a photo of himself flipping off Caster from the segment.

It remains to be seen what is next for The Acclaimed at the time of this writing.
