A former NFL star has reportedly signed a contract with WWE after attending a tryout over the Summer.
24-year-old Trill Williams, who was signed to the Miami Dolphins between 2021-2023 has reportedly now swapped the football for WWE as he reportedly signed to the company over the Summer.
This comes via The Dive Bar podcast’s Bobby Shouse, who reported via Twitter:
Former Dolphin Trill Williams has signed with the @WWE & will pursue a career in Wrestling.
Trill originally attended a tryout for the @WWE over the summer & has since began working with the company.
Shouse would also point out that Williams was visible in the background of a segment on last night’s WWE NXT.
As can be seen below, Williams can be spotted in the background of the segment involving WWE’s Dion Lennox and Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis.
After playing safety for Syracuse, Williams went undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft, but would be picked up by the New Orleans Saints in May 2021.
This was short-lived however, as the Saints waived him off just days later, leading to the Miami Dolphins signing him to a contract.
Williams was active for the Dolphins for five games in 2021 NFL season, however, after suffering. torn ACL in 2022 he would eventually be waived off in 2023.
We will post further updates on Williams’ WWE future as/when they become available.
