While there weren’t very many surprises tonight at NXT TakeOver: WarGames, we did get the tease of a special return. During tonight’s show, we got a vignette of buzzards and a ticking clock. While it was left mysterious at the time, it has since been confirmed to signal the return of Karrion Kross.
Kross has been out of action since the end of August dealing with a separated shoulder. Kross himself confirmed his return with a tweet during the show.

His injury occurred during the match where he won the NXT Championship. At NXT TakeOver XXX, Kross defeated Keith Lee to win the title but was injured in the process. He vacated the title on the following episode of NXT and has not been seen since.
During his time away, Finn Balor captured the vacant NXT title for the second time. Balor is also set to return to the ring, having made his return from a broken jaw on a recent episode of NXT.
While this is merely speculation, one would have to believe Karrion Kross will be looking to regain the title he vacated.
