Former WWE NXT coach and producer Chris Guy (Ace Steel) has been hired by AEW, per the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
This comes after reports that Guy was backstage for the February 9 episode of AEW Dynamite, and the February 5 AEW Dark tapings at Universal Studios.
Guy gained experience wrestling for WWE, TNA, ROH and on the independent scene. After signing with WWE as a coach and producer in 2019, Guy was released from his WWE contract on January 5, 2022, along with a number of notable Performance Center names.
Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Matthews (Buddy Murphy) has also recently joined AEW, aligning himself with Malakai Black and Brody King on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite.
