A former WWE NXT coach and producer has reportedly been backstage for recent AEW tapings.
Per PWInsider, Ace Steel was in the building for Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Steel was also reportedly backstage for last weekend’s (February 5) AEW Dark tapings at Universal Studios.
Steel joined WWE as a coach and producer in 2019. He was released from his WWE contract on January 5, 2022, along with a number of notable Performance Center names. Prior to his coaching role, Steel had gained experience wrestling for WWE, TNA, ROH and on the independent scene.
As of writing, it is unknown whether Steel has signed with AEW.
Somebody who definitely has signed with AEW is Keith Lee, who debuted on Wednesday’s show, defeating Isiah Kassidy. Lee’s win earned him a place in the Face of the Revolution ladder match at AEW Revolution next month.
