Former NXT Tag Team To Reunite Outside WWE?

A former NXT Tag Team Champion has stated that he is open to reuniting with his former tag team partner outside of WWE.

Wesley Blake was released by WWE in April. His former tag team partner, Buddy Murphy, departed from WWE earlier this month.

Blake has noted that he’d be interested in working with Murphy again, if the opportunity arose. Speaking with Riju Dasgupta of Sportskeeda, Blake stated that if he received an attractive offer, he’d come back to NXT.

Commenting on Steve Maclin’s (fka Steve Cutler) IMPACT future, Blake noted that there’s always another thing to do, saying:

Yes, I’m always willing to work with any company that would like my services and what I bring to the table. A main event type caliber player where I can show the world what I’m capable of and also help the brand out as much as I can as well. Like I said, if NXT would give me a call back and the deal was right and I like the circumstances of coming back, I would most certainly, definitely, go back to NXT.”

“Buddy Murphy is another name that sadly, very talented, got released recently and I mean the opportunities of working back with Buddy would be a lot of fun. The great thing about these opportunities now is that you have Steve Maclin, formerly known as Steve Cutler, he’s over at IMPACT. I would always…that’s another thing I’d like to do. I think me and him have a lot of unfinished business. Of still being a tag team together.”

Blake and Murphy won NXT Tag Team gold in 2015 before losing them to The Vaudevillians at the first ever NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn event.

In 2017, Blake, Cutler and Jaxson Ryker came together to form The Forgotten Sons. Ryker, the last remaining member of the team in the company, has recently expressed his interest in becoming the next US Champion.
