A former champion in TNA Wrestling is reportedly heading to AEW after his TNA contract expired this month.
As covered earlier, Speedball Mike Bailey’s TNA contract expired on November 1, and he filed to trademark his ring name a few days ago.
Now Fightful Select has provided another update, noting that Bailey is expected to sign with All Elite Wrestling.
According to the report, there are “a number of talent” within TNA and sources close to Bailey himself that are under the belief that he is expected to turn up in AEW.
TNA sources also confirmed that in the event Bailey was headed to NXT or WWE, he wouldn’t have needed to be written off of TNA television.
With the news that Bailey is likely on his way to AEW, may fans have pitched the idea of him debuting in the returning Continental Classic tournament.
The 2024 Continental Classic starts in Chicago on Thanksgiving Eve, November 27.
Before that, the AEW Full Gear 2024 pay-per-view will take place on November 23.
Bailey recently revealed he was close to signing with WWE a couple of years ago before the company implemented “new hiring guidelines” that put an end to the deal.
We’ll keep you posted with any further updates on Bailey’s future.
