Former TNA Wrestling World Champion Returns

Former TNA Wrestling World Champion Returns TNA Wrestling

A former TNA Wrestling World Champion has officially made his return to the promotion on tonight’s episode of Impact.

TNA has been in the headlines this week due to the seemingly imminent NXT invasion angle, but tonight’s Impact makes news for a different reason.

Tonight’s September 18, 2025 episode of the show played host to the TNA return of Mr Anderson.

Anderson is a two-time TNA World Champion, holding the title twice back in 2011.

Before joining TNA Wrestling in 2010, Anderson was known as Mr Kennedy in WWE, where he was a United States Champion in 2006, and was planned to be revealed as the storyline son of Vince McMahon in 2007 before that fell apart due to a wellness policy violation and suspension.

His TNA run lasted until 2016, and he hasn’t wrestled for the promotion since then.

Anderson’s impact on the industry continues in his role as a trainer, with current WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton coming through as one of his most notable students before she signed with WWE, as well as AEW’s Darius and Dante Martin.

As far as tonight’s Impact, Mr Anderson was initially welcomed back to TNA by Frankie Kazarian during his “King’s Speech” segment.

Kazarian started verbally running down Steve Maclin and his military background, which Anderson took exception to, getting in Kazarian’s face.

Before a fight between the two could break out, Jake Something ambushed Anderson from behind.

However, his attack was short-lived as Steve Maclin came out to make the save for Anderson as Kazarian and Something both left.
