On the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, Goldberg returned at the end of the show to confront Drew McIntyre. The WWE Hall of Famer challenged the WWE Champion to a match at the Royal Rumble later this month.
Many fans are pretty down on the return of the WCW icon, mainly out of fear that he’ll beat Drew McIntyre for the title at the PPV, but one person who is happy to see Goldberg back is NXT Champion Finn Balor.
Speaking with Metro ahead of NXT New Year’s Evil, Balor said that he’s happy to have his fellow former Universal Champion back on WWE TV:
‘Those guys have carved out their legacy and proven over the years that they belong on the show. Whether it’s for one night or it’s every night, that doesn’t affect me and it shouldn’t affect anyone else.’
‘For me, when the tide comes in, all the ships rise,’ he said. If we can have Goldberg on the show, if we can have anyone on the show for one night, I feel it’s better one night than never. I welcome these legends with open arms!’
On tonight’s episode of NXT, which WrestleTalk.com will have live coverage for, Finn Balor will put his NXT Championship on the line once again against Kyle O’Reilly in a rematch from NXT TakeOver 31 last year.
