AEW commentator Tony Schiavone has confirmed Former WCW World Tag Team Champion Scotty Riggs has been working for AEW.
Back at AEW Revolution 2024, numerous former WCW talent attended to watch Sting’s retirement match in the main event.
Among those former WCW names was Scotty Riggs, who watched Sting and Darby Allin retain the AEW World Tag Team Championships against Matthew and Nicholas Jackson of The Young Bucks.
In December, PWInsider reported that Riggs had been working for All Elite Wrestling for some time, helping with logistical support for the promotion.
On the latest edition of What Happened When, co-host Conrad Thompson revealed that he saw Scotty Riggs backstage at the January 8 episode of AEW Dynamite from Clarksville, Tennessee. Confirming Riggs works for AEW now, Tony Schiavone said:
“Yeah, behind the scenes. Scotty’s been with us for, gosh, over six months or so, yeah. I think it’s great that Tony and the company gave him a job, let him work for us,”
In the original report, it was noted Riggs helps with driving talent to venues among other logistical work for AEW. Schiavone did not provide any additional information about Riggs or his role in the company.
