Former World Champion Returns On AEW Dynamite

Former World Champion Returns On AEW Dynamite AEW

A former AEW World Champion made his return on tonight’s AEW Dynamite Maximum Carnage show after six months away.

Former AEW World Champion Samoa Joe was last seen on Dynamite back in July 2024, when he was taken out by Chris Jericho in a Stampede Street Fight.

Joe left television in order to film season two of the Peacock series Twisted Metal, where he portrays Sweet Tooth, as fans eagerly awaited the return of the Samoan Submission Machine.

That return happened on tonight’s Maximum Carnage episode of Dynamite, where Joe came to the aid of Hook and Katsuyori Shibata following Hook’s disqualification victory over Christian Cage on the show.

Joe had been aligned with Hook and Shibata prior to his absence back in July.

Joe won the AEW World Championship back at AEW Worlds End in 2023, defeating MJF for the title before losing to Swerve Strickland at last year’s Dynasty pay-per-view.
