A former WWE star seems poised to make his in-ring debut on AEW Dynamite but it remains to be seen which star will take to the ring.
AEW shared an exclusive interview from backstage at WrestleDream 2024 in which Alicia Atout confirmed that Lio Rush had re-signed with the company and was All Elite yet again.
However, mid-interview about his goals for the future, Rush was joined by some very intriguing familiar faces.
Entering the scene, MVP and Shelton Benjamin arrived to ask Atout if she had seen “Tony Khan or even Christopher Daniels”, and Rush was unimpressed.
When Rush attempted to tell them to leave and MVP shrugged his protest off, Rush fired back and Benjamin was seemingly poised to answer.
However, MVP stopped Shelton Benjamin from taking any action, rather asking Rush if he was “available on Wednesday,” which was confirmed and the duo took off again to locate Tony Khan.
It certainly seems as though a match featuring Lio Rush will take place on Dynamite, but his opponent is less clear.
Given the interaction, it could be Shelton Benjamin, MVP, or even a member of the group who has yet to appear.
Reports suggest that Bobby Lashley is also signed with AEW, so in theory, he could also be a potential opponent for Rush on Dynamite.
Rush has history with Lashley, as he acted as Lashley’s ‘hype man’ in WWE in 2018 and 2019.
Whichever of those three does face Rush on Dynamite, it’d be their AEW debut match.
