Former WWE Champion Calls Fellow Current Star A ‘Sandbagger’ WWE

One of the most highly anticipated matches for WrestleMania 39 was made official on last night’s episode (March 17) of SmackDown.

The show featured Sheamus taking on Drew McIntyre, with the winner set to face off against Intercontinental Champion Gunther for the Championship at WrestleMania.

The match ended with Giovanni Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser running in to cause a double disqualification, setting up the much expected Triple Threat match for the show.

Taking to Twitter to share the official graphic for the match, Sheamus had harsh words for both his WrestleMania opponents, referring to McIntyre as a ‘backstabber’ and the champion Gunther as a ‘sandbagger’.

He wrote:

Wrestlemania Main Event Night One: Sheamus V Backstabber V Sandbagger.. these weak men won’t prevail. #ICTitle

Sheamus continues to reference the match being the ‘main event’ of WrestleMania night one, but that seems to be hyperbole, with Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley’s clash seemingly set to close the show, though some in the company have been pushing for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship bout to close the show.
