Taking to Twitter, former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho has said that Jim Ross essentially made sure WWE signed him back in 1999, noting that JR has always been a big defender of his.
Well @JRsBBQ was always a defender of mine. He was pretty much single handedly responsible for getting me signed to @wwe. https://t.co/EPL4ste8KA

This comes after a fan took to Twitter to share his shock that Jim Ross had to convince Vince McMahon to sign Chris Jericho, something that was revealed on a recent episode of Jim Ross’ Grilling JR podcast:
Exactly!! I listen to Jim Ross’s podcast. Stunned Jim had to sell Vince on Jericho. Chris is so talented, he doesn’t get the top guy love he deserves.
Both Jim Ross and Chris Jericho joined fellow former WCW name Tony Schiavone and Excalibur in the commentary booth for AEW Dynamite last week, the tribute show to Brodie Lee.
