Former WWE Champion Makes IMPACT Appearance

It looks like Anthony Carelli – formerly Santino Marella in WWE– seems to have made a return to the wrestling scene. Although, he seems to be following in the footsteps of Lana, in that he has seemingly lost his accent.

The self-proclaimed ‘Milan Miracle’ was seen on the July 26th episode of Impact Wrestling, being given an interview backstage. Carelli talked about how he wants to be medically cleared to compete and get back in the ring, before he introduced one of his students, Dustin Cameron.

Austin Aries then invaded the conversation, talking angrily to him and telling him to leave. Double A challenged Carelli to a fight, but he repeated that he is not medically cleared to compete. Austin than challenged Carelli’s student, after mocking Carelli’s very real neck injury, which Cameron rapidly accept before Carelli could get a word in. Aries walked off smiling, and Cameron did the same saying he got a title match, even though it was never announced as one.

(CAUTION: Strong Language)

Carelli really pushed how much teaching wrestling means to him, stating that he “lives vicariously through them.” This seems to be heading to a feud between the two somewhere down the line. It very well could end up in a match if Carelli is ever medically cleared.

Carelli and Aries kept stirring the pot on twitter after the ‘Master of the Cobra’ had some words to say about their encounter:
