Last week on Monday Night Raw, Rey Mysterio went one-on-one with and subsequently defeated Andrade. It was speculated that the pair would go head-to-head for the United States Championship at WrestleMania.
However, it seems like Andrade’s feud with Mysterio is done as WWE announced prior to Raw that Andrade and Angel Garza will take on The Street Profits at WrestleMania for the Raw Tag Team Championships.
Not only will Rey Mysterio not be competing for the United States Championship at WrestleMania, but the former World Heavyweight and WWE Champion will not be part of the show in any capacity.
Dave Meltzer is reporting on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that Mysterio is in quarantine and will be missing the “show of shows’:
“There were a lot of different ideas, multiple different ideas for U.S. Title matches. From last week, the main idea was probably going to be Andrade and Rey. Rey is also in quarantine so he’s off the show. You got to be safe rather than sorry for sure.”
At this time it is not known if Rey Mysterio was displaying symptoms of Coronavirus or has come into contact with someone who has tested positive for the disease. However, in instances like these, you can never be too safe.
This comes after another WWE star was removed from a SmackDown title match at WrestleMania as they have also now gone into quarantine as a result of Coronavirus.
