Former WWE Champion Very Close To In-Ring Return

Rey Mysterio revealed on the latest episode of Talking Smack that dropped on the WWE Network yesterday that he is very close to be able to return to the ring after suffering an injury back in August.

Mysterio is believed to have suffered a triceps injury back in August. He hasn’t wrestled since he and Dominik Mysterio tagged against Seth Rollins and Murphy at the Payback pay-per-view event.

“I was concerned in the beginning. The procedure was slow at recuperating, but I’m already at 99%. I’m looking for bigger things to come. I eventually want to get this [storyline] over with — there’s a twist and turn with Murphy trying to get on my daughter’s side, and [makes angry sounds].”

Since suffering the injury, Rey Mysterio has been drafted to SmackDown along with the aforementioned Dominik, Murphy and Rollins. It seems like the ongoing storyline between the four men will be continuing on the blue brand.

It’s likely that WWE is waiting for Rey Mysterio to be cleared for in-ring competition before ending his feud with Seth Rollins, so don’t be too surprised if one of Rey Mysterio’s first matches back is against his fellow former WWE Champion.

Speaking of former WWE Champions, a former rival of Rey Mysterio has teased joining IMPACT Wrestling. You can read more about that by clicking here.
