Following his departure from the company, former WWE star Gable Steveson’s college wrestling return has been announced.
In 2021, Gable Steveson signed a NIL (Next-In-Line) contract with WWE. Despite being drafted to the Raw brand and having his first WWE match in NXT, Steveson’s wrestling career came to a screeching halt.
The Olympic Gold Medalist was released from his contract with WWE in May 2024.
Weeks after his WWE exit it would be announced that Steveson was trying his hand at Football, signing on with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills, however, this would be short-lived and he would be cut from their roster in August.
On November 12, Minnesota Gopher Wrestling announced that Gable Steveson will make his college wrestling return to compete in one final season with the team this year. The post reads:
𝙃𝙚’𝙨 𝘽𝙖𝙘𝙠!
2x National Champion and Hodge Trophy winner, @GableSteveson, will wrestle one final season for the #Gophers.
Months after Gable Steveson’s WWE release, his brother Bobby Steveson (fka Damon Kemp) would also be let go at the end of his contract, however, unlike Gable, Bobby would state his intention to continue pursuing pro wrestling.
