Current Champion Compares Kofi Kingston To WWE Hall Of Famer WWE

Reflecting on his “KofiMania” storyline, TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth has compared Kofi Kingston to Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat.

During the lead-up to WrestleMania 35 in 2019, Kofi Kingston found himself at the center of a top storyline referred to as “KofiMania.”

This led to Kingston finally winning the WWE Championship for the first time in his career by defeating Daniel Bryan at the Show of Shows.

Appearing on the Under The Ring podcast, Nic Nemeth was asked his favorite moment in another wrestler’s career. Answering that “KofiMania” was his favorite, Nemeth said:

“It was just watching it over and over and every step of the way getting another barricade put in his way,”

“I don’t know what the payoff is in a few months, I don’t know what the situation is, I don’t know if he’s gonna almost win the big one.”

Comparing Kofi to WWE Hall of Famer Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, Nemeth said:

“He’s one of the most beloved guys, the last true babyface, he’s never been a heel, I love it. The Ricky Steamboat of our generation,”

Nic Nemeth currently works for TNA Wrestling and holds the TNA World Championship, while Kofi Kingston is currently on the Monday Night Raw roster along with Xavier Woods of The New Day.
