A former WWE manager has revealed that he “got robbed and hit in the head with a rock”.
Dutch Mantell is one of the most legendary managers and prominent names in the professional wrestling business. Mantell has had two separate stints in WWE with his latter run as Zeb Colter, aligned with Jack Swagger.
Unfortunately, the legend shared some disappointing news to kickstart the holiday season weekend.
On December 23, Dutch tweeted that he got robbed while walking in Nashville when someone threw a rock and hit him in the head. Mantell wrote:
“Walking down the street in Nashville today thinking about what a great country the USA is. I thought how lucky I am. Then somebody threw a rock, hit me in the head and I got robbed. Now I’m at the ER with a concussion. Where’s @JamesStormBrand when I need him?”
During his stints in WWE, Dutch Mantell managed the likes of John Bradshaw Layfield, Alberto Del Rio and Cesaro aka current AEW star Claudio Castagnoli.
The veteran remains active in the wrestling world with his podcast Story Time with Dutch Mantell and Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Smack Talk review show on Friday nights.
For those who wrote us concerned, the Tweet was apparently in jest, as Mantel later wrote:
I made a tweet earlier that said I got robbed on the streets in Nashville and went to the ER. It was a JOKE. I apologize for those that took it as legit. I appreciate all the msgs asking if I’m OK. I am. Humbled by the concern guys.
