Former WWE Name Reveals Concern For Rey Mysterio’s Hall Of Fame Induction WWE

WWE’s first inductee into the WWE Hall Of Fame class of 2023 was revealed on last week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown to be none other than current Smackdown star Rey Mysterio.

While active wrestlers being inducted has happened before it s usually reserved for part-time competitors or those already retired from the ring.

Given this fact it was a surprise for many to see Rey get the nod while still competing regularly for the company, this in-turn has led to speculation that the former three-time world champion could be set to retire at WrestleMania 39.

The possibility of Rey’s induction into the HOF playing into a larger storyline has drawn the ire of former WWE referee Jimmy Korderas, discussing the matter on his latest ‘Reffin Rant’ posted to his Twitter.

In the video Korderas hails the choice of Mysterio as the next inductee, stating he has “earned his right” to be inducted, however, he expresses concern over the “timing” of WWE’s decision.

Korderas disagrees with the decision if Mysterio’s induction is to be infused into Rey’s current feud with his son Dominik Mysterio on WWE TV.

He said:

“I just don’t want this to be an angle at the Hall Of Fame to lead up to the WrestleMania match with him and his son.

“I would rather the Hall Of Fame be kept completely separate from any angles that may happen at WrestleMania.”

While the rumored Rey vs Dom WrestleMania match hasn’t been confirmed as of yet, it seems very likely based on recent interactions between the father and son on WWE programming.
