
A former WWE name has been hired by All Elite Wrestling after it was recently announced they had left their previous promotion.
Back in February, a number of TNA Wrestling departures were confirmed, which included former WWE announcer Josh Mathews, who had worked for TNA for eleven years prior to his departure.
Following his departure, it was reported that Mathews was backstage at two AEW events, first a Dynamite episode back in March, and later the AEW Dynasty pay-per-view event on April 6.
In an update on his status from PWInsider Elite (subscription required), Mathews is now working for AEW.
Mathews has been working in the production trucks recently, and has helped to facilitate between the production team and the coaches and producers in the company.
Mathews’ wife Madison Rayne has worked for AEW since 2022 both as an on-screen active wrestler and also behind the scenes as a coach.
Mathews has worked as an on-screen interview and announcer for most of his career, prior to taking up an office role in TNA before his departure in February.
