Having been released by WWE on December 1, 2023, former NXT backstage interviewer McKenzie Mitchell has addressed a potential return to the company.
While she has pursued other ventures such as her YouTube channel in the time since her departure from WWE, Mitchell recently made her pro wrestling return via Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling – performing a backstage correspondent role at their inaugural Forged in Excellence event in October.
In April 2024, Mitchell’s husband and NXT lead commentator Vic Joseph said that Mitchell wanted to “come back” to WWE, however, there has been little word since on whether that could happen or not.
Speaking in a recent interview with XeniaDidThat, Mitchell was asked about a potential return to WWE in the future, to which she said:
“I’ve said this, and I think it’s so cliche, but it’s so true. Never say never. For me, I didn’t get to check some things off my list in WWE.
I wanted to have that WrestleMania moment of my own. I think it’s important to think about. I think [interviewers] work just as hard.
“So for me, I didn’t get to tick those things off of my list, of WrestleManias, Royal Rumbles, SmackDowns, Raws, being on tour. So for me, I’d love to go back if that door still remains open.”
