It was revealed a few weeks ago that Gerald Brisco, who had been with WWE for over 36 years, had been fired by the company after a telephone conversation with Vince McMahon.
This came after long-time WWE referee Mike Chioda, who first joined the company in 1989, was released by WWE in April as part of the cost-cutting measure brought on by the Coronavirus pandemic.
Since then, Gerald Brisco has teased a pretty big announcement coming, and his latest tease seems to indicate that he might be heading to All Elite Wrestling.
Taking to Twitter, Brisco stated that due to some technical difficulties, the announcement he was going to be making last week has been postponed to this Wednesday night:
Oh gosh! We had some technical difficulties! I truly Khan’t wait to tell you my big news! Stay tuned WEDNESDAY NIGHT for my BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! What do you think it’s gonna be?
While there have been no reports that AEW is interested in bringing Brisco in, his tweet does seem to suggest that could be on the cards. Instead of saying he “can’t wait”, the former WWE name said he ‘Khan’t wait”, which is clearly a play on AEW boss Tony Khan.
Also, the fact that the announcement is coming on Wednesday night, the same night that Dynamite airs, potentially indicated that he’s going to appear on TNT.
