A former WWE star has revealed that they have retired from wrestling, noting that they’re currently at peace with their in-ring career.
Sonya Deville departed WWE earlier this year, with it being reported in February that she had been informed that WWE wouldn’t be renewing her contract.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Deville noted that she isn’t currently thinking about wrestling anywhere else, because she feels loyal to WWE.
On whether or not she has retired, Deville said:
“Definitely for now. Never say never. But right now I feel at peace with that.
“I’m not gonna lie, and I haven’t said this, but it almost is like an open wound, and if I think about wrestling somewhere else, it’s like I was so loyal to the company, it was my only home from 21 years old to 31.
“I’m a ride or die type of person in general. So it’s weird to even think about doing that, but not there.”
Sonya Deville was with WWE for just under 10 years, first appearing for the company as part of Tough Enough in June 2015.
She officially signed with the company in October 2015, ahead of making her televised NXT debut in August 2016.
