Former WWE NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose has revealed Shaquille O’Neal reached out after her release from the company.
In December 2022, Mandy Rose was released from her WWE contract following a run in NXT as the NXT Women’s Champion.
Following her release from the promotion, many performers and personalities from around the world of wrestling all supported Rose on social media.
The former WWE star has now revealed that a legendary athlete also showed her support after her departure.
Speaking to The I-95 Morning Show, Mandy Rose revealed that Shaquille O’Neal reached out to her after her WWE release. She said:
“Shaq. But it wasn’t creepy or anything, it was when I got released. Super cool guy, I’ve heard really great things about him. I think I met him in person like once.
“It was when I got released and the news articles and all of these crazy things are coming out.
“It was really sweet, he just messaged me and was like hang in there, you’re amazing, love you kid or something like you’ll be fine.
“It’s one of those things, he must of saw something and probably felt bad. That was really cool.”
Shaq has some history in the pro wrestling world, as he appeared in WWE at WrestleMania 32 and wrestled in AEW alongside Jade Cargill in a tag team match against Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet back in 2021.
