A former WWE star “snuck” backstage at a recent edition of AEW Collision and ended up meeting the company’s CEO Tony Khan.
Last week, it emerged that former WWE star Maven Huffman had been backstage at the live Collision show in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
We now know that he was there to film a video for his YouTube channel, as he posted a video today titled: “I Snuck into AEW”.
The video shows Maven getting past security to gain backstage access, where he met up with a number of talents, including some of his old colleagues from years ago in WWE.
Among them were Dustin Rhodes, Scotty 2 Hotty, Billy Gunn, and even Maven’s fellow Tough Enough 2001 participant Josh Mathews, who now works backstage for AEW.
Mathews described his current role in the company to Maven as “shadowing Mike Mansury”, who is essentially the promotion’s head of production.
Maven also had conversations with Thunder Rosa, Anthony Bowens and Daniel Garcia.
The video finished with him meeting Tony Khan, and saying:
“I noticed you get a bad rap because I see how much you care, I see how much you put into this, going up to your guys afterwards and making sure they’re okay. Dude, much respect. I will, from here on out, go to bat as much as I can.”
Khan said that Maven is welcome at AEW any time.
