A former WWE star, who last wrestled for the company in 2016, has announced his in-ring retirement.
Kenny Doane, who is best known for his work in WWE as Kenny Dykstra, posted the following message onto Twitter this afternoon, confirming that he is stepping away from wrestling:
I’ve decided to retire from in ring wrestling. When I started at 13 I thought I’d retire at 40. But smart investments overtime have allowed me to be done now. I’m in my prime, and that will go towards my family and being a father. Thanks to the fans who stuck by me.
Kenny Dykstra made his WWE debut in 2003, later joining the Spirit Squad group as “Kenny” in 2006, where he would go on to win the WWE World Tag Team Championship.
After splitting from Spirit Squad, Kenny Dysktra was released from WWE in 2008, but returned in 2016 for a few matches alongside The Miz during his feud with former stablemate Dolph Ziggler on SmackDown.
Kenny has not wrestled since the start of the pandemic, with his last match coming at Beyond’s Uncharted Territory event in Massachusetts on November 26, 2019, where he lost to Robo.
