In some truly awful news, former WWE wrestler and 2005 Diva Search winner Ashley Massaro has passed away at the age of 39, just ten days prior to her 40th birthday.
Massaro passed away earlier today, with the cause of her death unconfirmed at this time and currently under investigation.
According to Suffolk County law enforcement, a “rescue call” was placed at 5:23 a.m. to Massaro’s home in Smithtown. Massaro was taken to a nearby hospital where she passed away.
Police do not believe foul play was involved and Massaro’s death is currently being classed as “non-criminal”.
Massaro was a WWE performer from 2005-2008, during which time she wrestled at WrestleMania and was a cover star for Playboy magazine. She retired from wrestling when she was released from her contract but had recently teased a potential comeback back in March.
WrestleTalk would like to offer its condolences to Massaro’s family and friends at this difficult time.
