Former WWE Star Calls Asuka The Greatest Women’s Wrestler Ever

Asuka has made an incredible impact on WWE since arriving in NXT in 2015. Since then she has become arguably the best NXT Women’s Champion ever, a Raw Women’s Champion, a SmackDown Women’s Champion, a Women’s Tag Team Champion, a Royal Rumble, and a Money in the Bank winner. What a resume.

Now, former WWE star Rusev has made his feeling known that he believes she is the greatest women’s wrestler ever. You can certainly make that argument. He made this revelation on his Twitch and later YouTube channels. Here is the quote, courtesy of Fightful:

“Asuka is the greatest women’s wrestler. I don’t know how you don’t know that. I’ve been saying that for years. Asuka is the greatest professional wrestler and nobody cares what I say. But again, that’s just my opinion. How can you say that Asuka is good? You can’t say that Asuka is good. Asuka is so much more than good. She knows everything. She gets everything. She can be funny. She can be serious. She can kick ass while funny. She can do it all and she doesn’t friggin speak English. But who cares? Asuka, by far, my favorite. I love a lot of other people, don’t get me wrong, but I love Asuka the best. I don’t know if Asuka is underrated per se. I don’t know. She’s done everything. She’s held all the titles, so I don’t think Asuka is underrated.”

Rusev went on to call her the best ever.

“I think people have different opinions, but I’m just saying my opinion that she is definitely the best, maybe of all time. Now that I’m thinking, Asuka may be the best of all time. A lot to take in, but Asuka might be the best of all time. I’ve said that for so many years, I’ve said that to my wife. If anybody wants to know more about wrestling, if you are male or female or whoever you are, if you want to learn about professional wrestling, if you want to learn not just professional moves, but actually entertainment and everything in between, you go to Asuka. She’s so good.”

She just defended the Raw Women’s Championship at Backlash against Nia Jax. The match ended in a double count-out, meaning their rivalry will likely continue.
